3,000 Miles, Zero Gallons of Gas

Mike Murphy drove an electric vehicle from New Hampshire to Los Angeles this summer. Six days, roughly 3,000 miles, and not one stop for gasoline.

He filmed the whole thing. Twenty-eight short videos from the road cover what an EV road trip actually looks like in 2026: how the car picks its own charging stops, what 399 kilowatts feels like on day one, whether you can charge in the rain, and what happens when you bring an electric car to the largest gas station in the world.

The short version is that charging has become unremarkable. In 2023 Mike made this same drive and spent much of it troubleshooting broken equipment. This time the longest stop was about twelve minutes.
